TRICell over the years has gained extensive knowledge in various disorders, increased technology capabilities and innovative approaches that strap up its combined strength to discover invaluable medical solutions. With international collaborations, TRICell continues to be the world's premier R&D establishment for stem cells.

TRICell capitalizes on its experienced team of international and domestic scientists, as well as medical professionals, that it believes can unlock new levels of productivity. The technology and scientific competence advanced by TRICell’s researchers has been acquired, as well as developed internally, over the years. Majority of its research initiatives are based on a client’s need based outlook. In addition, an internal scientific review board helps assess its opportunities and guides its developmental efforts.

With the current team of experts at hand, TRICell continues to advance its technology for current and future clinical studies within the country and for on-going clinical studies internationally. It is dedicated to supporting research for medical conditions and diseases where there are currently no effectual treatment alternatives.

TRICell balances its investment in research, product development and clinical studies to enhance current products and ensure new product development. TRICell’s research initiatives are funded both by a portion of product sales, as well as grants obtained from external organizations and government. Some of the core areas that this team concentrates on are:

1. Validating the safety and efficacy of the current technology.
2. Build upon the existing protocols for isolating, expanding and processing of stem cells.
3. Refining current methodologies and protocols used in clinical applications.
4. Potentially extending the product use into new surgical procedures

RESEARCH THEMES:
TRICell with support from LifeCell, bases its research on 2 different platforms at the moment – (i) Expansion and (ii) Differentiation

1. EXPANSION TRICell’s proprietary technology platform for the in-house development of novel processes like large scale manufacture of stem cell based therapeutics, which would include expansion of mesenchymal stem cells from menstrual blood and cord tissue in the first phase followed by expansion of hematopoetic stem cells from the umbilical cord.
   
   
2. DIFFERENTIATION TRICell has a strong research interest in directed differentiation down specific lineages and selection of pure populations of cells for transplantation. This is expected to encompass a wide range of research areas from neural stem cells, skeletal muscle stem cells, tooth stem cells etc. to germ cells derived from embryonic stem cells.
