Expansion Facility Services

Due to its affiliation with LifeCell, TRICell has the advantage of availing its Expansion Facility Services. TRICell values the benefits of using the best array of technology when it comes to collection, recovery and expansion of stem cells. It harbors a cellular expansion area: Class 10,000.

For a few conditions, the stem cell therapy may begin with a dose of bone marrow concentrate. The resulting bone-marrow derived cell populations are heterogeneous, comprised not only of mesenchymal stem cells, but also of committed lineage-restricted progenitors. The concentration of MSCs in this remains very minimal but is the most important cell of therapeutic significance. With each bone marrow, peripheral blood or umbilical cord blood sample, a total of four 10-million cell doses will be obtained for treatment. Since multiple treatments can enhance response to therapy, there are notable benefits to culture and expansion, including a significant increase in stem cell numbers in 2-3 weeks providing doses from 10-40 million cells, for multiple therapeutic doses in a relatively short amount of time.

TriCell’s stem cell recovery and expansion lab was designed specifically for the purpose of expansion of MSCs from the bone marrow and peripheral blood for transplantation purposes. It currently aims at using established optimal culture protocols for the clinical-scale expansion of human mesenchymal stem cells (MSC), while maintaining their multilineage and immunosuppressive capacities. This enriched population of Mesenchymal Stem Cells is infused to the patient at periodic intervals in subsequent sittings, resulting in multiple doses without collecting additional bone marrow or peripheral blood samples. Further, this can negate issues like inadequate sample collection.

TRICell thereby offers the capability of harvesting, culturing and reimplanting patients' own cells all under one roof. This ability ensures the maximum viability and survival of the cells, by avoiding the long transport times required to courier cells to and from the commercial companies offering expansion services in other parts of the world.
