R Thyagarajan, Chairman

Mr. R Thyagarajan has over three decades of experience in the General Insurance Industry. He was one of the promoters of the Shriram Group, and is now the Chairman of the Shriram Group. Mr. R. Thyagarajan has dynamic strength in networking and wealth creation. Coming from the agri-belt of Thanjavur district, Mr. Thyagarajan spent 15 years with New India and another 10 years with JB Boda, the largest reinsurance and insurance broker in Asia, before floating Shriram Group with his friends in 1974. Long before Indian businessmen came to know about venture capital funds, Mr. Thyagarajan had played an "angel investor" in his own way.

S Abhaya Kumar, Vice Chairman

S. Abhaya Kumar is a Co-founder of Lifecell India Ltd. and serves as Vice Chairman and Director of LifeCell International Pvt. Ltd. He serves as Head of Technical Team at Shasun Pharmaceuticals Ltd. Mr. Kumar served as Joint Managing Director of Shasun Pharmaceuticals Ltd. He is also responsible for marketing efforts of Shasun in USA. Mr. Kumar has been one of the key architects in developing Shasun Chemicals & Drugs. He is a Co-founder of Frameflow and has successfully executed Hollywood projects. He had held many prestigious positions in pharma industry bodies and won a number of accolades in the industry. Mr. Kumar set up Shasun Chemicals and Drugs in 1976. He serves as Vice Chairman of Visionary RCM Infotech India Pvt. Ltd. Mr. Kumar has been wholetime Director of Shasun Pharmaceuticals Ltd since October 2006. He serves as a Director of General Optics Asia Ltd. He is associated with Indo American Chamber of Commerce and various National bodies related to Chemical Industry. Mr. Kumar is a "compulsive serial entrepreneur". He is actively associated with a number of NGOs including Civic Exnora. He also set up an exclusive women's college in Chennai to promote women's education. He was the Finalist of Ernst & Young's Entrepreneur of the year award in 2003 and received the certificate from the then Deputy Prime Minister Mr. L. K. Advani. Mr. Kumar is a Chemical Engineer from Anna University. He is a qualified Pilot, Golfer and also a Horse Rider.

Mayur Abhaya Srisrimal|President & Executive Director

After pursuing his Masters in Science from Northwestern University – USA, Mayur Abhaya, the young businessman, decided to take charge of Shasun business which was established a few decades ago. He started his assignment with Shasun in handling Information Security Management and on successful implementation of this he moved on the next layer of automation in leading the ERP implementation. Though he had a science background in his education his outlook always had strong traits of strategic business management, business automation, systems and processes needed for a professional organizational management. His education along with this skill helped Mayur in getting into strategic core areas in Shasun like Intellectual Property Rights, Licensing, new product development etc where contributed to a great extent.

After setting quality & process standards at Shasun, Mayur was invited by the board of management of LifeCell / TRICell to take charge as Executive Director of LifeCell International. Mayur is now actively involved in driving the business in total perspective from stem cell banking, research to therapy. He has set himself on an ambitious track of putting LifeCell in the international map of stem cell technology and positioning LifeCell as the hub for stem cell solutions worldwide.

J Ramanan | Member

J. Ramanan serves as Director of Vivek Limited. Mr. Ramanan serves as Director of LifeCell International Pvt. Ltd. He has 27 years of varied experience in national and international companies, holding responsible positions. Mr. Ramanan has great financial and administrative acumen and is instrumental in turning companies towards impressive achievements in profitability and growth. He is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.

V S Pattabi Raman | Member

With over 28 years of experience in Institutional Financing, Mr. Pattabi Raman held a senior position in a State Level Financial Institution. He is also a former Executive Director of a State Financial Corporation. He has served on the Board of several Public and Private limited Companies as Director.

She also received the "Tamil Nadu Doctors Day Award" from the Indian Medical Association, Chennai. The Rotary Club of Madras honoured her with the prestigious "Shree Shakthi Award". The Medical Council of India nominated her as a member to serve the Management Committee to administer the prestigious "Dr.B.C. Roy National Award" which is held in high esteem by the medical professionals. She has authored a book titled "Patient's Rights and Responsibilities" published by Consumer Association of India in 2003.

Amit N Patel|Director

Dr.Amit.N.Patel is the Director of Cardiac Stem Cell Therapies, McGowan Institute for Regenerative Medicine, USA. Dr. Amit, a cardiothoracic surgeon, is internationally acclaimed as a pioneer of adult cardiac stem cell research and therapies. With over a decade of providing cardiac care, he has sought to improve the treatment of heart conditions, particularly by restoring the strength and functioning of the heart muscle, using adult stem cells. Dr. Patel is certified by US FDA for clinical trials using adult stem cells to treat heart patients and has performed over 100 adult stem cell surgeries worldwide.

Dr. Patel is the recipient of numerous awards including the National Shield of Uruguay, for "Pioneering Minimally Invasive Stem Cell Therapy for Heart Failure" in 2004. He holds two U.S. medical device patents - Minimally Invasive Retractor and a MIDCAB Retractor.
