Clinical Protocols

In case of bone marrow being the source of stem cells, a successful procedure requires the patient be fairly healthy enough to undergo the procedure. The age, general physical condition, the patient's diagnosis and the stage of the disease are all considered by the physician on site when determining whether a person is fit to take up the surgery. Prior to the surgery, a battery of tests are carried out during the patient's initial evaluation upon entering the hospital to ensure the patient is physically capable of undergoing the procedure. Tests are done to determine kidney function, immune system status and other vital organ functions all of which are used to develop a patient profile.
